TimeKnot Games is pleased to announce the upcoming Grand Opening event, taking place on
Juneteenth, June 19, 2023, at Rainier Arts & Cultural Center. This significant occasion will mark
the beginning of an exciting chapter for TimeKnot Games and the community as they embark on a mission to
promote accessible game design and publishing.

TimeKnot Games, a community-rooted and focused game studio, aims to provide opportunities for individuals
from all backgrounds, particularly those in low-income and BIPOC communities, to engage in game creation,
publishing, playful and practical applications. The Grand Opening event will serve as a platform to kickstart
their initiative and foster inclusivity, creativity, & historical relevance within the gaming industry.

The event will feature inspiring keynote speeches by renowned visionaries Nisi Shawl, an award-winning local
Afrofuturist author, and Big Chief Shaka Zulu, Head of the Golden Feather Hunters, a Black Masking Tribe of
New Orleans. Their perspectives on Afro-Indigenous futures and the evolution of consciousness within the
diaspora will offer unique insights to attendees.

Participants will also have the opportunity to engage local vendors, play retro arcade games, and even sign up
for a 40-week long game-making challenge, where they can explore their creative potential and bring their
ideas to life. Through mentorship and available resources, TimeKnot Games aims to nurture talent and enable
mastery to aspiring game creators.
