SUMMARY:South End Stories Teen Theatre Intensive Showcase
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nSouth End stories is a trauma-conscious and antiracist arts education nonprofit organization serving students and educators throughout King County, Washington. We encourage critical thought to stimulate artistic expression and exploration of identity. Through our work, we aim to guide students towards a collaborative style of learning, giving them tools to share their stories through multiple means of expression.\nOur Summer Teen Theater Intensive offers four weeks of acting and creation training that create spaces for high school students to build their social/emotional and theatrical skills through creative Project-Based Learning. Because this approach is student-driven, students create theatrical projects rooted in their current perspectives and development, giving them opportunities to share their stories, cultures, and identities, not only through performing published work, but through developing and performing original work of their own.\nThroughout the Intensive, students will be mentored by professional theatre artists, leaving with new artistic skills, a stronger sense of identity, a deeper connection to their community, and the tools to pursue careers in theatre or the multidisciplinary skills that theatre fosters.\nThe four weeks culminates in a public showcase, where students take the stage to share the original and collaborative work they’ve created, celebrating growth, creativity, and the stories only they can tell. Participate in the magic of storytelling and what happens when we invest in youth art.\nSouth End Stories is very grateful to be partially funded by Best Starts for Kids, City of Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Department of Education and Early Learning, 4Culture, and the Washington Women’s Foundation among others.\nDonate Here ( https://givebutter.com/south-end-stories-teen-theatre-intensive-showcase-vrhekp )\n\n\n\n
