Celebrating Roots is a youth development 501(c)(3) committed to shifting power to diaspora youth by dismantling the barriers that have historically excluded them from essential services, leadership spaces, and decision-making. A 2016 study by the UW School of Public Health revealed that many East African families were hesitant to engage with programs due to a perceived disconnect from their cultural needs. Celebrating Roots was created in response to close that gap. Our team, made up of individuals who reflect and […]

WASAT – Journey of the Hearts
Wasat was conceived in 2012 by three American converts to Islam who wanted to create space for Seattle-area community members to connect, grow, and learn together.
